The low carbon content effectively inhibits the precipitation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries during welding or high-temperature processes, preventing intergranular corrosion caused by chromium depletion at grain boundaries. Therefore, 304L maintains excellent corrosion resistance without the need for post-weld heat treatment, making it particularly suitable for thick plate welded structures or continuously welded components. 304L maintains excellent toughness even at low temperatures, making it widely used in cryogenic equipment and cold-region projects. Its smooth surface is amenable to a variety of surface treatments, including polishing, brushing, and sandblasting, to meet the aesthetic and functional requirements of various industries.
