This small but significant increase enhances its corrosion resistance, formability, and stability, especially in demanding environments.Like standard 304, 304Ni8.5 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with excellent resistance to oxidation, weak acids, alkalis, and atmospheric corrosion. The higher nickel content improves its toughness at low temperatures and enhances its resistance to stress corrosion cracking, particularly in chloride-containing environments. It also contributes to better thermal stability and long-term structural integrity under repeated thermal cycling.
