304Ni8.5 Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Strip For Optical Cable

304Ni8.5 stainless steel belt optical cable is an optical cable with 304 stainless steel belt with a nickel content of about 8.5% as the key armor material

• Material characteristics:
 Based on the conventional 304 composition, the nickel content of 304Ni8.5 stainless steel belt is stable at about 8.5% (slightly higher than the lower limit of ordinary 304), which further optimizes the stability of the austenite structure, improves the corrosion resistance, ductility and low-temperature toughness of the material, and is more reliable in harsh environments such as humidity and high salt fog.

• Armor structure: 
It is longitudinally wrapped or spirally wound on the outer layer of the optical cable core in the form of a thin belt (usually 0.1-0.3mm thick) to form a metal protective layer. Some optical cables will be composited with PE sheath outside the steel belt to take into account mechanical protection and insulation.

• Strengthened protection: Compared with ordinary steel belt or low-nickel stainless steel, it has stronger corrosion resistance and can effectively resist soil acid and alkali, seawater erosion, and atmospheric oxidation. At the same time, the armor layer can resist extrusion, impact and rat and ant bites, protecting the internal optical fiber from damage.
Processing adaptability: Good ductility allows it to fit closely to the cable structure through processes such as corrugation and longitudinal wrapping, which not only ensures the protection strength, but also does not affect the bending performance of the cable (meeting the steering requirements during laying). It has high dimensional stability and is suitable for precision cable production.

Application scenarios
Laying in harsh environments: It is mainly used for submarine optical cables, coastal communication optical cables, oil field/chemical park optical cables, etc., which need to withstand high corrosion environments for a long time; it is also suitable for projects such as direct buried optical cables and tunnel optical cables that are susceptible to mechanical impact.
High reliability demand areas: such as power communication optical cables (anti-electromagnetic interference), security monitoring lines, industrial control optical fiber transmission systems, etc., rely on its stable protection performance to ensure continuous signal transmission.
