321 Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Strip For Automotive Metal Bellows

321 stainless steel belt bellows is a bellows made of 321 stainless steel belt, combining the material advantages of 321 stainless steel with the structural characteristics of the bellows.

Material characteristics
• Strong resistance to intergranular corrosion: 321 stainless steel adds titanium (titanium content is 5-10 times that of carbon content) to make carbon preferentially combine with titanium to form stable titanium carbide, avoid chromium carbide precipitation at the grain boundary, effectively prevent intergranular corrosion, especially in high temperature environment of 425-850℃, which is its core advantage over 304 stainless steel.
• Good high temperature stability: At high temperature of 600-800℃, it can still maintain high strength and toughness, and its oxidation resistance is better than 304, which is suitable for long-term work in high temperature medium.
• Balanced comprehensive mechanical properties: tensile strength ≥520MPa, elongation ≥40%, with good stamping, welding and other processing properties, can meet the plastic deformation requirements of bellows during forming, and is not easy to crack after forming.

Application scenarios
High-temperature pipeline systems: such as steam pipelines of boilers and steam turbines, and connecting pipelines of high-temperature reaction devices in petroleum refining, which are used to compensate for the expansion and contraction displacement of pipelines caused by temperature changes.
Industrial kiln equipment: exhaust pipes and hot air pipes of kilns in metallurgy, ceramics and other industries, which can withstand high-temperature flue gas corrosion and thermal shock.
Heat exchange equipment: connecting pipelines of condensers and heat exchangers, which can cope with the circulation and transportation of high-temperature media (such as hot water and hot oil) and resist intergranular corrosion under long-term high temperatures.
Other high-temperature scenarios: such as automobile exhaust treatment devices, high-temperature fluid transportation pipelines in the aerospace field, etc., which require both high-temperature stability and corrosion resistance.

Differences from 316Ti stainless steel with bellows
Both improve the resistance to intergranular corrosion by adding alloying elements, but 321 uses titanium as a stabilizing element and focuses more on performance in high-temperature (above 600°C) environments; 316Ti contains molybdenum and titanium, and has better corrosion resistance (especially to chloride ions), which is suitable for scenarios with high temperatures and corrosive media. 321 is relatively low in cost and is a common choice for high temperature, non-corrosive environments.
